Sonar Recording, Analysis, and Training - Sea based Recording Solution

SonarPC sets the standard for PC based sonar recording, analysis and training systems. SonarPC integrates digital recording of wide bandwidth sonar data, extensive analysis capabilities with a completely integrated computer based training system. AudioSoft’s SonarPC solutions are used by all the leading Naval Forces throughout the world to meet a variety of requirements including sea based recording and analysis, sea and shore based training solutions.

Recording

SonarPC digitises data from a wide range of different sonar sources including pre-recorded data on reel to reel tapes, laser disks, VHS tapes or directly from instrumentation. The system can be run as part of a sea based recorder, or as part of a shore based system.

Analysis

The suite of analysis tools allows real time analysis of the digitised sonar data, or pre-recorded WAV files and then displays the data in a number of user selectable formats including LOFAR, DEMON, Vernier and A-Scan. The displayed data can be replayed and synchronised to the aural data. The results have been calibrated against dedicated hardware analysis systems.

Training

SonarPC contains a CBT authoring tool together with instructor and student modes of operation. The authoring system provides a defined framework for Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to rapidly construct a lesson comprising of graphic images, video clips, text, acoustic synthetic or real data, analysis windows and subject related questions. This unique authoring system eliminates the need for authors with software programming knowledge,produces consistent lessons and results in significant cost savings. The flexibility of the system allows lessons to be constructed for basic, continuation and advanced training as well as on board threat briefing and electronic publications. The students can work through the lesson at their own pace and the Instructors can monitor the progress of students and provide aural assistance if required. Results are databased allowing the Instructor to assess student/class/boat performance to highlight strengths and weaknesses.
